The culinary signature of Pichlmaier stands for regional-global cuisine. The 47-year-old Styrian relies on top products from home and likes to complement this with high-quality French products. As Executive Chef, Werner Pichlmaier is responsible for the legendary Café Imperial Wien, the Palais Hotel’s unparalleled banquets and the OPUS three-toque restaurant.
His talent and passion for culinary art were manifested by his father in his parents’ gourmet restaurant “Der Pichlmaier” in Graz-St.Peter. At ten, Werner Pichlmaier was allowed to help out in the kitchen with his two brothers after finishing his homework at his regular table in the restaurant. While his great role model was German three Michelin Star Chef Dieter Müller at the time, Werner Pichlmaier is now inspired by specialist magazines and, more recently, Instagram for extraordinary gourmet dishes.
