WiB – Looking back at your childhood, were there early moments when creativity first revealed itself to you?

Galia Lahav – I grew up in a home where creativity was not a luxury; it was part of survival. My mother used to sew, and I would sit beside her, watching, learning, helping. It was not just about making clothes; it was about creating something beautiful even in difficult circumstances. That’s where it started for me. Not as a dream, but as something very real, very instinctive.

WiB – Do you remember the first time fabric, color or design captured your imagination?

Galia Lahav – Yes, very clearly. I remember being fascinated by craftsmanship, embroidery, textures and details. The idea that something made by hand could transform into something emotional stayed with me. Even later, while studying art and visiting museums, I was always drawn to beauty, to detail, to the way something visual can move you deeply.

WiB – Did anyone in your early life encourage your creative spirit?

Galia Lahav – My mother was my greatest inspiration. She taught me everything I know about sewing and design. But beyond that, my family gave me something more important: a mindset. I grew up believing that anything is possible. That no matter where you come from, you can build something bigger. That stayed with me my entire life.

WiB – When you reflect on your journey, what experiences have shaped your vision the most?

Galia Lahav – Resilience. My childhood, my family’s story, and the challenges we faced shaped how I see the world. Later, building my business while raising three children and working day and night also shaped me. Everything I design today comes from that place: strength, determination, and a deep belief in following your own path.

WiB – Were there moments that tested your belief in yourself?

Galia Lahav – Many times. Especially in the beginning, when people didn’t understand what I was doing. My designs were different, more daring, more expressive. But I never listened to what was expected of me. I listened to my inner voice. And eventually, the world followed.

WiB – In what ways do your life experiences influence the gowns you design today?

Galia Lahav – Completely. I design for women who are strong, expressive, and not afraid to be seen. Everything I went through taught me that clothing is more than fashion; it’s a way to express who you are, your strength, your confidence.

The Galia Lahav House of Couture Spring/Summer 2027 Couture Collection, Dream State, designed by Galia Lahav and Sharon Sever, captures the shift from fantasy to authority, showcasing a bride who no longer dreams of her identity but fully embraces it. Dream State presents a new type of couture bride: confident, self-aware, and emotionally steady.

She isn’t searching for who she is; she already knows. What she desires is presence. The collection highlights that presence, depicting a woman at her prime, where beauty, desire, confidence and power converge in a single moment.

WiB – How has the woman you are today shaped the designer you have become?

Galia Lahav – Today, I am very clear about who I am. I trust my instincts completely. I don’t design to please others; I design from a place of conviction. That confidence came with time, with experience, and with everything I lived through.

WiB – What personal values guide you when you create a collection?

Galia Lahav – Passion is everything to me. If I believe in something, I go all the way. I never give up, and I always stay true to myself. That is something I learned very early on.

WiB – What advice would you give the young girl who first dreamed of creating beauty?

Galia Lahav – Don’t give up on yourself. Even when it’s difficult, even when no one understands you yet, keep going. Because if you truly believe in something, nothing can stand in your way.

WiB – If your current collection were a piece of music, what would it sound like?

Galia Lahav – Something emotional, but powerful. A piece that starts softly but builds into something strong and unforgettable, like a woman discovering her own strength.

Galia Lahav House of Couture’s Spring/Summer 2027 GALA Collection, titled A Midsummer Night’s Dream, captures a realm between reality and fantasy. Created by Galia Lahav and Sharon Sever, the collection takes inspiration from Shakespeare’s legendary story, interpreted through a contemporary, feminine perspective.

Instead of a literal take, it suggests an ambiance—where femininity feels innate, untamed, and subtly powerful. It presents a vision of the modern enchantress: a bride who seamlessly transitions from softness to seduction, innocence to confidence. She isn’t dressing to change herself; she already embodies the dream.

WiB – When you look at a finished gown, do you imagine the women who will wear it?

Galia Lahav – Always. For me, it’s about the connection. Meeting women, understanding them, being inspired by them- that is where everything begins. Each gown is created for a real woman, with her own story.

WIB – If a single detail from your gowns could symbolize your creative spirit, what would it be?

Galia Lahav – The craftsmanship. The embroidery, the handwork, the details- all the things that take time, patience, and dedication. Because for me, nothing is rushed. Every piece is created with intention.

WiB – If you could live inside one of your gowns for a day, what would it feel like?

Galia Lahav – Like stepping into a dream, but a strong one. Not fragile. Not delicate in a weak way. A dream that has presence, confidence, and power.

WiB – When inspiration strikes, does it come like a whisper or a spark?

Galia Lahav – Both. Sometimes it’s something I see while traveling, sometimes it’s a feeling, and sometimes it’s a fabric. But very often, it comes from the women themselves, from their energy, their stories, and their dreams. That is my biggest inspiration.
