Like a seed in the womb of the earth, suspended in its own nothingness, it absorbs the warmth of the sun and moisture in the soil. It feeds on minerals formed exactly when the star was born, which then dispersed into tiny solar system particles, of which it is a tiny part. Nourished by countless cycles of plants, animals, microorganisms, fungi, and more, it grows above the surface into the atmosphere, now inhaling and exhaling, syncing its rhythm with that of the forest. When the time comes, the tree returns to nature—body to body, earth to earth.
